I wanted to start some blog posts about the lyrics of my songs and the meanings behind them. I know a lot will already understand. But if there is one person who needs clarification or confirmation to come to Jesus then I should do these for them.
Hello New Man is all testimony to Jesus!!! I wrote the music in minutes!!! A day later the lyrics just came out!!! When I am writing a song a lot of times I am just babbling to get a melody to work with the music if the music came first. Well there was no babbling here… Pretty much all the lyrics were done in less than an hour.. Never has this happened for me. Yes, there was some minor refining later on. But the song and lyrics were done in maybe two hours work. Thank you Jesus!!! Thank you Holy Spirit!!! I truly, 1000% believe they had a hand in helping me write this song. Maybe you believe me… Maybe you don't… I just pray you believe in HIM!!!!
HELLO NEW MAN written by Mark Toups
MUSIC: May 21, 2025
LYRICS: May 22, 2025
1st Verse
The sin was in me
A lie lived through me
The devil was giving
Now I ain’t taking
Here I am talking specifically about me. But it pertains to us all. If we are not living in Christ, then we are of the Devil. Sorry, but there is no grey, it is black and white.
2nd Verse
Jesus came to me
A light to guide me
He gave me healing
Now my heart is beating
I was living for the Devil. I was living in sin. I was doing all the wrong things. And then Jesus opened my eyes!!!
Pre Chorus
A dead man came alive
A blind man gained his sight
He renewed a weary soul
He made a dead man come to life
These are all what happens when you let Jesus into your heart. You are spiritually dead without Jesus, alive with him. You are blind to the spirit, but will see with Him. His living waters cleanse and refresh your soul!!!
3rd Verse
A word spoke to you
To live inside you
For resurrection
And eternal life
The Bible is a Living Word. It speaks to me and to you. We should read it and speak it. And it lives inside us!!!
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
We all know the verse. Most people interpret this as all you have to do is speak that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and you are saved. I believe it is a little more than that. When you speak it you have to believe it with all your heart. And if you believe it with all your heart, you will live in Jesus and he will live in you. You will be in repentance for all your sins. Because you now know, he suffered the Cross because of MY sin!!! It is a transformation!!! I have a whole blog entry on this alone.
4th Verse
He gives us hope
He gives us love
He gives forgiveness
If you’re believing
Jesus is the hope of the world, the One True Love!!! Be wary what you call “Love”, because not all that seems like love is love. The Devil is the master of deception and if you don’t know the Word you are easily deceived.
2nd Pre Chorus
A dead man came alive
(He’s alive again)
A blind man gained his sight
(His eyes opened)
He renewed a weary soul
(He is born again)
He made a dead man come to life
(He’s alive)
This chorus now has some second person reflections of how Jesus transforms us. Jesus can transform us physically, mentally and spiritually!!!
It all starts with true belief!!! (Not trying to contradict what I said earlier.)
1st Chorus
Good bye to sin
Hello new man
When we accept Jesus into our hearts we are forgiven of all our sin. Not just the sin of our past. Jesus doesn’t climb on the cross every time you sin so you can be forgiven again. He took all your sin to the cross with him.
In 1 John 2:1-2 (AMPC)
2 My little children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father—[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought, and action].
2 And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
This is not saying just go on living in Sin and you are forgiven. But we are all still human. Still under the Curse set in course by Adam and Eve. We can try as hard as we want. But there is only one man who roamed this earth without sin, Jesus. We all fall short!!! We all sin!!! REPENT of your sins always!!!
Accept Jesus in your heart and say goodbye to sin!!!
Post Chorus
I’m a new man
Now I’m born again
Now I’m a new man
Now I’m born again
Here’s the main point.
Jesus speaks in John 3:1-21 of being born again. Jesus is in a discussion with a Pharisees by the name of Nicodemus. If you don’t know these passages, then I encourage you to go read them yourself.
In short Jesus tells Nicodemus that we must be born again, by water and by spirit, to be able to enter the Kingdom of God.
There are numerous interpretations of what Jesus meant by “water and spirit”. If I went into discussion about that this blog would be a short book. But no matter which one you believe he meant, the core concept is this… by believing in Jesus, accepting him as Lord and Savior of your life, that he died for your sin, you will have become a new person and spiritually clean. Only then, are you able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
3rd Pre Chorus
A dead man came alive
(I’m alive again)
A blind man gained his sight
(My eyes opened)
He renewed a weary soul
(I am born again)
He made a dead man come to life
(I’m alive)
This chorus now has some first person reflections of how Jesus transformed ME. Jesus transformed ME physically, mentally and spiritually!!!
2nd Chorus
Good bye to sin
Hello new man
Good bye to sin
Hello new man
Just a repeat of the first Chorus.
Post Chorus
Now I’m a new man
Now I’m born again
Now I’m a new man
Now I’m born again
So now I am born again!!! I am a new man!!! That old man is GONE!!! He is behind me!!!
Does that mean I am perfect? Absolutely not!!! I am still fighting my flesh, which wants to live in that old way. I still fall short!!! And the Enemy is now more in head than ever!!! He thought he had me before and so he didn’t have to do much. But now, he tries to put fear, doubt and anything he can to separate me from Christ!!! But Jesus is my Lord and Savior!!!
In John 10:28-29 (AMPC)
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father’s hand.
Put all your faith and trust in Jesus!!! Accept him in your heart!!!
I will say this numerous times!!!
READ YOUR BIBLE!!!
It is written there will be great deceptions in the end times!!!
IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE WORD YOU ARE EASILY DECEIVED!!!
Lord I pray, there are so many people who claim they believe in you, but don’t live in you. Let them come into a relationship with YOU Lord!!! Let your Word transform them, give them wisdom and sight!!! You are the bread of life!!! You are the light of the world!!! You are the way!!! Help us stay the path Lord!!!
Lord I also pray, I never say the wrong things when it comes to you!!! I only want to lead people in the right direction!!! Towards Jesus!!!
In Jesus Mighty Name I pray!!! Amen and Amen!!!
